It seems that two of our officers got to appear in our own impromptu version of a Girls Gone Wild video yesterday while investigating a case of Obtaining Goods by False Pretense at one of our scrap yards. These cases usually occur when someone tries to sell stolen goods for scrap metal. In this particular case, two gals, along with a couple of guys, tried to fraud the company by going across the scales with four people in the truck. After they had weighed, two of the occupants snuck out of the truck to try to make it appear that only two of them were actually in the truck at the time it was weighed, thus making it appear that the extra weight of bodies was actually the weight of the metal. When officers arrived at the scene and began questioning the four, for some unknown reason, one of these gals told our officers that the other one had a crack pipe in her bra. Before officers could say or do anything about this bit of news, Miss Crack Pipe, exclaimed that she did not...and promptly proved the point through visual aids. Our officers declined a second viewing when she asked if they needed to check again. We hope that, as these people await their bond hearings at California Avenue, they will spend their time wisely, thinking of ways to make a living through more legitimate means.
