It sure has been an interesting two year experiment. Facebook, that is. But Airlift & I are done. Tomorrow night at midnight I pull the plug on this page and want to share a few thoughts before I do. Initially I posted the business with Mark Zuckerbergs minions in an attempt to draw awareness to my lifes work, my passion, and hopefully find new clients for my studio. But looking back across all these months its been, well, not so much. Perhaps Ive been guilty as well, mixing news of recording sessions and testimonials from clients... with Native American sympathies and perhaps too many questions about organized/disorganized religion, but thats, well, me. My journey from radio days (across many state lines & major American cities) to voice dude and recording studio owner (for now 30 years in Americas most fascinating city) has indeed been an illuminating and spiritually enlightening one. Blame me for trying to share. Amid Facebooks myriad number of posers and supposers, players and haters, it would appear that much of my posts and thoughts have simply fallen on deaf ears. (True, if youve read this far, you probably arent one of them.) And it certainly is no comfort to know that all of these posts, pictures & thoughts (yours too) are but a small part of a massive permanent digital database that can be surrendered to the law or the US Govt at any time and for nearly any reason. Yes, the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away. To those of you whove run with me through the past months - Thanks! To those of you whove checked-in only occasionally out of envy, jealousy, morbid curiosity or mistrust - find another outlet. Airlift Productions and I will continue - just not here. All that I have tried to do on these Facebook pages will go on... and even deepen... at my Airlift website web log here blog.airliftproductions/ See you there.
