It used to be that the jobs at fast food restaurants were the starting point for young men and women to get into the work force, earn a little money and some financial responsibility. It is definitely a bad sign when fast food establishments workers march in the streets asking for what they call "living wages". Two could be the scenarios here: 1) the economy is so bad when it comes to good paying jobs that displaced professionals are forced to work these jobs, or 2) the unions see such a cash cow in the industry that they are forcing an issue that should not be there. Personally, I believe it is another communist move on the part of union leaders on their march toward another destructive alienation of an economic model that has been working just fine for many years. They succeeded in killing the auto industry in Detroit and the whole city, but this is another chance to bring the same self-destructing policies nation wide.
