It was 12 years ago today that our country was changed forever. I - TopicsExpress

It was 12 years ago today that our country was changed forever. I watched 9/11 unfold sitting on my couch in Pleasanton with my oldest Jason (below). So glad he was there with me as this tragedy unfolded. My son Peter was at school and joined us later. Our daughter Nikki was at her future in laws. Because air traffic was stopped, my husband, Dean, who was in Israel on business was stuck there. It was a few days before he was able to get home. I believe that most of us Americans believe it was a day that our country lost a sense of security. It was the beginning of airport scanners and shoes off at airports, etc. Since 9/11, our news on a daily basis gives us an update letting us know that the Radical Islamists are still wanting to destroy us. 9/11 reminded all of us that our life here is just temporary and that we need to live each day as if it is the last. One of the main artifacts that will be displayed at the 9/11 Museum when it opens in the Spring of 2014 was a partial Bible stuck to a piece of steel that was found in the ruins of the Twin Towers. The Bible was turned to the Scriptures that said (paraphrase from Jesus); "It is said an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, but I say to you to turn the other cheek." How profound, and I believe not an accident that this Bible survived the fall of the Twin Towers and was stuck on this page of the Bible. Have a Blessed Day everyone.
