Later came KMPX and KSAN the originators of Free Form Radio. It indeed transformed what you listened to on radio. When I moved to the Sierra Gold Country January 1973 I could still get KSAN and discovered KZAP out of Sacramento. In the Bay Area it was Down Home Music where I shopped. When I left for the hills it was Tower Records and in Auburn Cherry Records. Cherry Records is still humming along fine. Each of these record stores took a good slice of my income.
