It was a busy week for me. That is one of the dividends of this - TopicsExpress

It was a busy week for me. That is one of the dividends of this old age. As children, some of us lust after growing beards. Now that the beards afforded us rough chins and cheeks, we look at our sons and daughters with envy. We hope we could steal that tender face from them but No. Sell when you can; you are not for all markets. Buy when you can, both the good and bad stocks will NEVER last... This week, I did not encounter anything worth a medical analysis. Primary duty is a jealous mistress, she does not want a divided attention. An introduction to a more realistic world sha... ...Run or you get trampled upon. So, let me rant. Who was even the first person that ran mad intellectually in Nigeria? I mean if it is true that there is nothing new under the sky, who started the public display of civil madness on the social media? This time, I am not writing this to cure our society of any madness, I am writing this so that I wont go mad myself. When people tell me they laugh alone when they remember some things, I do wonder how and why but circumstance has answered that. I still dey laugh now sef. Some people are evil but may God forbid an end to their brand of evil. The evil they perpetuate eases tension in the face of the bigger evil. See, I want to recommend Sahara reporters and Nairaland for everybody reading this. On Sahara reporters, there are some faceless people that would aim stones at ones great-grandfather for the offence of the great-grandchild. I was once a victim; the only difference was that they forgot to mention my great-grandfather or any member of my family. My crime was that I wrote against the bad policies of Sir Jonathan and Sahara reporters deemed it fit for publication. The media pigs and babies started grunting and crying. One eventually called me a brainless individual. I wanted to remind him that in Biology, the brain is a key part of the central nervous system and that once the skull is empty; it is practically impossible to live, let alone write but my invisible grey hair told me I was too old to play verbal Ping-pong with silhouettes with birds brain. On Nairaland, the survey of how low the orison of an average Nigerian youth who could afford a gadget has depleted can be conducted. Shhhhh! Not everyone on that forum is mad but for every sane person comes 5 not too sane individuals. First, majority of topics that go to the front page would tell you it is the online psychiatric home for all calibres of psychos. Second, the comments that would greet the fairly sane posts and the sane one would either make you lose hope in the youths level of intelligence or cry at the revelation of our media problems. Few months back, a guy lamented how the gods are claiming his hair rapidly. He was too young to go bald and he did not like it, so he mounted the Nairaland podium and humbly pleaded to be enlightened on how to recover his lost hair, someone raised his hand. Sango could have cut off that finger with a fierce strike but really the gods are sleeping. Thinking he had a solution, the concerned man gave him the microphone and behold, the reply was you nuh fit grow hair again, grass nuh dey grow for desert. Chai!!! Who has seen The punisher? John Travolta was not that merciless. Another similar one was when an intellectually stimulating post mistakenly made the front page, the first guy to comment wrote let me comment before I read. The next comment simply quoted the first man and then wrote many are mad but few are roaming. The clairaudience the comment gave me almost made me pee. You see, that forum is incapable of building an intellectually sound model or leader if we judge by the posts but one can go there as a potential leader or an intellectual to see how the gods have deprived most people of sympathy, common sense, logic and how several comments are mourning reasoning. Topics like how to know if someone is a virgin, Richard Damijo did not cut the grasses on the grave of his late wife, 5 types of people you would meet at a Suya spot etc are highly celebrated there. More than half of those on that forum are either sick or feigning sick. In the midst of uncertainties and faceless fates, I suggest you go to Nairaland today and see for yourself. Your life will never remain the same. Someone should lead us in the closing prayer.
