It was a full house at the clinic for Haydens chemo appointment - TopicsExpress

It was a full house at the clinic for Haydens chemo appointment today. I saw some new faces since we typically go on Thursdays. Even though we have been going there for roughly 3 months, its still heartbreaking to see all those sick children. We had our first run in with low counts today. Haydens neutrophils were on the borderline of not getting his treatment... But the doctors decided to proceed with a very low dose. Prayers for his counts to go back into the ok zone would be appreciated. Otherwise everything went as usual today for the most part. I feel very blessed for the care we have received at Blank and know they truly care about Hayden. I have read a lot of year in reviews on Facebook the last few days. I have no desire at all to recap my year as this has been a tough one for all of us! Im hoping and praying for a lot of positive things in 2015. Over Christmas break, I found myself cleaning/organizing our guest room closet. It was taken over with things from Mayo, the benefit, Blank, the AEA, hundreds of cards, etc. Going through all of that stuff found me very emotional. Not just because of our journey, but because of all the kind and thoughtful things that everyone has said and done. It truly amazes me with how much kindness and generosity that appears in a time of struggle. My heart has been heavy lately. Our community has been hit hard the past few days with the loss of a little 3 year old girl, who had Influenza A and B. Please keep the McCarthy family in your thoughts and prayers as they face some tough days ahead. I cant imagine their pain. I dont really believe in New Years resolutions... But one thing I would like to work on, is learning to enjoy the more simple moments in life.
