It was a quick and fairly ignomonious defeat for the rebels as The Imperials brought out one of their big-guns; one of their legendary Aces. Karnor Jax in his heavily modified Royal Guard TIE Interceptors (it had 2 frikking shields! Yes, you can do that now!) lead a strike force of named Tie pilots with late-90s emo-kid names like Winged Gundark and Howlrunner. On the rebel side, Wedge Antillies led Chewbacca in a YT-1300 and Biggs Punch-bag Darklighter (So it was kind of legend vs legend) It went badly from the off! With the two forces placed in a simple formation, just lined up facing each other on opposite sides of the board, the ame started with the fleets moving steadily forward. In the first round of shooting, Biggs, who MUST be targetted first by the enemy if its possible, was downed immediately without even getting a shot off in reply! This left Wedge and Chewey to take on the ties. Chewey overshot the mini-swarm of four ties and they pursued, peppering it with laser fire as the quad blaster tracked and fired as fast as it could. Wedge and Carnor squared off, U-turning and jousting head-to-head as, in the background, the fighters struggled to reign in and take down the monster that is super-tough Chewbacca. Chewey gunned the engines, swerving and jinking as best he could. Winged Gundark drew alongside the Wookie and exploded as a broadside pummeled the fighter, another erupted into flame as it pursued, but the combined weight of fire ultimately finished off the freighter. Wedge, badly damaged by now, swung round past Carnor to fire a volley at the remaining ties, but he too was rounded on and destroyed. It was a very fun game, and yes, The Imperial Aces are remarkable! But Ive still got a million unit combinations I want to try out, and I will get my revenge! Those new units add a new edge to The Imperials forces and tactics and will change up everyones game which is only going to add to the fun when the tournaments start!
