It was a sad day for me. My beloved beagle Sergeant has made his way to puppy heaven. Sarge was a rescue, a beagle who had been abandoned in Simpsonville. He was not very sociable in the beginning, but he grew to love his family. Sarge was an escape artist, and I spent many hours escape-proofing my yard, only to have him find a new way to freedom. His most famous escape involved pulling out one of the foundation vents, then making his way through the crawl space and out the crawl space door at the side of the home. Sarge will be missed by his family, but we take comfort knowing that he can now reunite with our sweet Bullet, and they can chase heavenly rabbits for eternity.
