It was a very hot and muggy day outside today, mostly high clouds, but when the sun popped out, wow! Very unusual for this time of year, but it really allowed our high bush cranberries to get to the just right stage as indicated by the chickens starting to eat them. So 36lbs of them harvested. During the tedious washing and stem picking, even the chickens got bored. This black one was so entranced watching me, she eventually just took a nap there. She was the girl whom we thought was a boy (with such an upright tail!) and is probably the oldest of our flock of 32 hens; 5 years old(ish) part of the first flock in 2009.
