It was fun and stressful at the Nysc orientation camp.. Plateau state......The home of peace and tourism. I heard so many things about camp experience and I thank God for making me part of the 3,500 corpers to witness the Nysc orientation course on the plateau as it is fondly called by the indigenes. Yes..., talking about plateau..., dat environment is synonymous with what you have abroad, so serene and cold.., it saved us the discomfort of sweating on d parade ground. We even pray to sweat. Plateau is a place to be though. Yeeeeeaaaa, Corper weeeee waaaaaaaa, mehn! Its fun dancing to all those soldiers gyrating songs on the parade ground , but is painful wen your life is regimented and you are to wake up by 4:00 am and sleep by 10, its annoying wen u have to be on the field whether you like it or not, its risky nd messy when you have to partake in the man o war drills. Imagine being chased out of ur bed with whistle, trumpet and byforce gyrating songs for one unnecessary exercise like dat. ....Chineke..., my eyes saw my ears in camp, I began to wonder the reason behind the nysc orientation. Ehen....Thank God for OBS and the Social comittee that made me forget the soldiers double up to the parade ground. I learnt a lot related to my profession at the Obs, its fulfilling when my OBS tag commands respect from both camp officials and fellow corpers....working in OBS requires diligence and early to rise and d last to retire to bed..., yes bcos we keep the camp lively. Thats the price i have to pay tho for joining OBS. How I can I forget the shows I helped in organising as a member of the social committee.., miss nysc, mr macho, miss pretty face, catch d plane contest, inter platoon rap battle, nysc got talent, cooking competition, cultural day and inter platoon makosa , disco and comedy. I need no soothsayer to say last week in camp was fun for me. Lest forget, I rep platoon 8. On the plateau was where I camped; no regrets, coal city is where am serving (its all choice). Most importantly I made good friends.
