It was my grandmothers birthday on October 14. Sometimes I celebrate the day by having girlfriends over for tea, making something special and serving it on my grandmothers China.... putting cookies on a doily for the kids, making Greek sweets, or even just taking special care to match my lipstick to my nails or my shoes to my purse like my Dotty Lotta used to do. This year I couldnt decide how I wanted to celebrate it and I let the day pass. What I really wanted to do, was to spend time with the elderly, but I just dont have anyone in my life like that right now and I miss it. So-- today I just signed up with elderhelpers.org, where I will be matched up with someone who could benefit from a little companionship. I am SO EXCITED and I cant wait to meet my lil lady!!!! Anyway, wanted to share info on the org. for any of you who might feel a similar calling. xo PS- guys, there are some elderly gentlemen who need some help too! Assistance fixing things, rides to appts., someone to tell them jokes, etc.
