It was quite amusing to see some comments on my post on the boatman and the pandit story yesterday, especially those saying the post as pro-BJP/Smriti/Modi blah blah. While the context for that post was definitely about Smritis educational qualifications, the post itself was not on that, but on our tendency to over-glorify academic qualification as the ultimate passport for success in life. In that context, I would like to share here what my good Prof said while we were being conferred our degrees. He said and I quote, Dont think, with this your learning has ended. In fact it going to begin from now. What you learnt here (if any) was simply how to learn well, that is all. There is no better academy than Life to learn, and no better teacher than our own experiences in it. Kishore
