It will shock u all what happened today, i was coming back from weija with two of my friend when a guy on a motorcycle overtook us. My friend who was driving was asking why the cycler tied his helmet to the back of his bike instead of putting it on and so surprisingly, before he could conclude his statement a vehicle just smashed the guy on the bike together with two other scrap dealers who were pushing their scrap metals on a wooden truck beside the road. the driver run away before anyone could say jack n cos we were directly behind them we stopped to help. initially people who started to gather around the scene thought it was us who hit them so we were nearly beaten up but God being so good, we cleared the air. as if that was what was necessary at the time, the people who were gathered were looking for the runaway driver to beat up instead of trying to find means by which to convey the injured victims who had all passed out and were lying in pools of their own blood. i backed the car up and my friend took two of the injured in and i also managed to stop a taxi to rush to the third one to the hospital, and all this time the bystanders were just standing there saying "they are already dead" without even trying to help convey them to a medical center. we managed however to get them to the korle-bu teaching hospital where they are being attended to after so many minutes of the health workers at the emergency room not even paying attention when they arrived. its such a pity we claim to be such good citizens and people living in a peaceful country when indeed we are just a bunch of naive and careless people. one of the scrap dealers sustained multiple fractures to the right leg and from the look of things might even lose that leg. life is very short and i urge all of u to make the best of urs while it lasts. today its them, u never know when it might be u in such a desperate situation help. 21st july, 2013.
