Its FRIDAY, so heres a long article: :) But Franco, I dont have your brand? What can I do to get results if Im just really new? How do I build a brand? I love this question. Remember when you just started? Remember, more specifically, when you just started to GET results? I do. Ill never forget. I didnt have any brand. I didnt have a list. ZERO influence. But I did (get lucky) and found a GOOD mentor, Brad. I had made a list of MANY really great marketers that were getting results online including Corey Rudl and some classic direct response (offline) masters like Dan Kennedy and Jay Abraham, but theyre stuff was COMPLICATED for me... ...I got it but I knew for me to pull THAT kind of stuff off it would be a while and Id need some results and experience under my belt first. I guess, the best thing I did in the beginning was NOT try to bite off more than I could chew... I wanted something simple because, not only would it serve me better, but I thought, the new people that Id attract would be better served by something simple too.... ...something they can learn from, get results, get experience and leverage THAT into a brand and grow and scale from there. So when I studied how Brad had set himself up to collect leads I noticed he had merged direct response with branding into the arena I wanted to get sales in... (this is what later became known as Attraction Marketing in our arena) ...and since he was an introverted artist, but had built a consistent, high producing business strictly online (and phone & email follow up), I decided to model his approach... (if an introverted artist can outsell sales professionals online, I wanted to know how) Here was his MAGIC SECRET.... It was so simple... Yes, he had a little picture of him and his family on his capture page and he had a really short (30 seconds) audio that basically just spoke what the headline said on his page and told a TINY bit about himself... (nothing about making oodles of cash or anything bragging like that) but heres what the magic was... HE ALWAYS MADE A KILLER OFFER THAT SPOKE DIRECTLY TO WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR AT THAT MOMENT. And his offer wasnt about him or his products or anything... He always used some KILLER OFFER that wasnt even his! When I saw that... I finally saw how I could get some results... I finally saw what would build my brand... It had NOTHING to do with branding per se... But it had EVERYTHING to do with making sales. The way you build your brand is NOT to fake it like youre some gooroo or try to build out some elaborate funneling thing with a full university of marketing coaching attached... BEFORE YOUVE MADE SALES. The way you build a brand is to.... GET SALES. How do you get sales? You provide a GREAT OFFER. And you support that offer with GREAT SERVICE on the back end. My facebook profile these days reminds me of what my capture page used to look like back then when I learned this from Brad. Just a light couple of pics of me, my family and my life... a tiny bit of my story... and A HUGE FOCUS ON A GREAT OFFER. And I follow up on the back end and provided the best support I could (thats for another post)... And that started generating sales for me. As I got sales, I started offering to teach people HOW I got those sales (like this)... and that led to the creation of a brand.... But howd you get traffic and leads without a brand? I advertised. And I networked. HARD. Serving others with the solutions to their questions... Pretty cool huh? There was no facebook back then either.... Social media back then was conducted inside Discussion Forums which were all the rage... and it was the same as today on facebook and instagram pretty much... A bunch of ignorant spammers with ZERO value to offer... And then some more professional and mature communicators that shared content, stories, tips and conversation... (THAT is who I studied) As I looked at that hot mess of activity, I made another decision on how I would use those social sites to generate leads and attract people to my KILLER OFFER.... I was lucky again! Id already been ADDICTED to reading anything I could get about personal growth, marketing, and mindset... So I came in FULL OF AMMO.... The more I read and the more I learned, the more value I had to share in my posts... and I always had a little tag line with my KILLER OFFER to show people how I had simplified ways to make money online... etc... It was a great offer! Included a system, training, community, support, pretty much everything a new person or a small team leader needed to leverage their business under one roof... the market has always loved that offer. So to answer the question... Im new, how do I build a brand? Id say the way you build a brand is by not worrying about building a brand. Id recommend you do what I did... Dont focus on the brand as much as you focus on: 1. Having a KILLER OFFER to share. Focus on the offer. 2. Following up and giving great support to your buyers and list. 3. Put great content INSIDE YOU so you have great content to SHARE. 4. Be yourself. Sell out completely to your offer and support it. And be yourself! That way you build TWO GOLDEN THINGS: 1. Sales. 2. Experience. And you can leverage THAT and THAT becomes your brand. I see so many people all focused and consumed on the creation and the selling of a brand thats generated no sales or results... and thats just cheating the market... and the market finds out quickly. When a prospect hears someone that knows, because of experience, what theyre talking about... the prospect KNOWS it.
