Its Halloween. Perfect time for you to order my horror movie Dropping Evil. Aint It Cool News called it Evil Dead by way of an acid trip, and DVD Talk said it was bravura indie filmmaking at its gonzo finest. Plus, its got an action-packed cameo from Fred Williamson for good measure, and it ends with an axe tennis match. Seriously though, in a really weird way, this movie is responsible for me working on music in Austin. I moved here in 2008 to finish editing it. The writer and my partner Louis Doerge showed me American Sharks and they provided us the theme song, which led me out to more shows downtown and showed me how the city felt. And during editing, Ian Mckinney (the movies composer) and I began working on rap music together, which led to me starting to play out again and to him changing his moniker to EGON and to us making 3 albums together. To top it all off, the movie stars Coolzey, a rapper I used to do shows with in Iowa City years ago, who is currently on tour with Moodie Black, and is coming to play an Austin Mic Exchange presents show next week. And Louis is currently fundraising his next movie, which looks awesome (link here: https://indiegogo/projects/night-of-the-babysitter). Its weird how things connect over time. Its a weird world like that. And this is a very weird movie.
