Its November 1. The organisation to donate to this month is Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia. So many women lose their lives and the lives of their babies due to lack of local resources and medical care during labour in places like Ethiopia. And there is also many many women who experiences extremely long difficult labours that leave them not only childless but with such severe internal damage that they have no control of the bladder and bowel (also due to lack of medical care and transport/distance to hospital). Hamlin Fistula Hospital provides free fistula repair surgeries as well as physiotherapy and rehabilitation afterwards for these women. They are expanding to set up another 5 centres and they run a training college to teach local women midwifery so they can make a difference in their communities.
