Its Sunday Morning folks. Here is a little Williams Family Country Gospel for you! Dressing Room. I am very proud of this recording, More so than anything else that I have posted. As I understand it, Uncle John had approached Uncle Jack and requested this song for Aunt Donnas Funeral. Uncle Jack had Contacted Dad, me and Rex Fives (A family friend) and asked us to help record this song. This song was written by Junior Williams in the 60s, and has always been a personal favorite. Needless to say, We were all happy to do it. We did not have time or finances for a studio, so we set up in my living room using what equipment we had available. We plugged our instruments in through a P.A. head and into a mini-disc recorder. We did not have a bass or drumset available, but I had a cheap little yamaha home keyboard with halfway decent sounding rhythm tracks. We found a rhythm patch that worked and edited it in real time (removing the sounds we did not like) with a series mutes, deletes and pauses. We rehearsed the music until we got it right and then recorded it live in 1 take. We then played the Mini-disk back through the P.A. and rehearsed our vocals until we got it right, and recorded it to cassette in 1 take. I personally think it couldnt have been much better in a studio. Everyone poured their heart and soul into this, kept it pretty true to Pappys (Junior) original sound, and gave Uncle John and Aunt Donna a true gift of love. I hope you all enjoy it.
