Its Time Travel Tuesday! This magnificent building, Baird House, was purchased for £3350 by Adam Baird in May 1945. He then offered it to PLC for £2600 (plus £500 for repairs) and it was immediately thereafter refered to as Baird House. Used as classroom and Principal accommodation, Dr Summers and her Deputy, Mrs Cusack, lived upstairs until 1961, and then from 1962-1967, Dr Summers successor, Miss Eileen Dunston and her aged mother Lillian, lived there. It had a Spanish Courtyard that Marjorie Hetherington captured in watercolour under her maiden name of Tarling, in 1978. Marjorie Hetherington taught Art at PLC for 38 years, from 1941-1978. The house was demolished the same year to make way for a new wing of the Boarding House.
