Its World Suicide Prevention Day today, and the theme is One World Connected. Every one of us can make a difference by reaching out and connecting with those who we think could be in trouble. Join the #connectingwith campaign by connecting with someone new, someone you lost touch with, or someone you want to be closer to. In light of the events of the last few months, we as a society are changing the way we talk about suicide, and recognising the need to engage with the issue, rather than ignore it or sweep it under the carpet. One World Connected recognises the role we can all individually play in creating suicide-safe societies, and the value that having a strong, understanding community can play in each of our lives.
