Its a go-o-o-a-l! The game had gone the whole 90 minutes without a goal. The match was tension- soaked. Fifteen minutes into extra time, the score line of the teams still stood at 0-0, in what seemed an equal battle. But the solemn silence of the stadium was soon suddenly shattered by the frenzied shouts that greeted the dazzling grounder which seal the hope of the Killers FC arch-rivals: The Red Dragon FC. Neither the commentator nor the jubilant spectators in their merry mood made much of the delayed whistle of the Referee, who dash from the center of the pitch to the point of play at the goal-mouth area. From the inside of one of his breast pockets, the Referee produced a RED CARD and flashed it at the No.7 shirt. There was no question. The goal had been disqualified. Games are played in obedience to rules. The scorer had flouted basic rules in his sharp moves as he dribbled past a defender to net the ball. Even though other eyes from a distance could not detect his rough-house tactics, the EVER watchful eyes of the Referee promptly picked him out. And he was disqualified at the most crucial moment. So will it be for so many who drive their lifes carriages carelessly and even recklessly. They would have thought the game over and won by them. But at the pearly gate, however, they would be shown the RED CARD. And they would not be able to able to enter heaven. Dear Reader, do you know there is an appointed day of reckoning? The Scripture says: ...He hath appointed a day in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom HE hath ordained... (Acts 17:31) There is a heavenly Referee who watches over all the deeds of men, the one done secretly and those done openly and brazenly in disrespect to the thrice-Holy God. The Referee patiently watches. Whatever a man does now is being recorded and on the day of reckoning he will answer for all the words and deeds. of that great day, the word of God says, and I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God: and the books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the Book of life and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books according to their works (Rev 20:12) In Numbers 32; 23, we are also told, Behold your sins shall find you out. Certainly they will, if you do not quickly confess and repent of them NOW. Do not wait for this appointed day before you open up your heart for the entrance of JESUS. If you reject HIM now you will receive a Red Card on the Day of Judgment. If however you receive HIM now, HE will say unto you, come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world (Matt 25: 34). How old are you? Like the ever ticking hands of a clock, age is taking its toll on you. Do you know there is just a step between you and death? Remember it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Heb 9:27) Think upon the life you are living now.... reckless? Given to pleasure? Smoking? drinking? Dancing? Fornicating? Check upon your life. Stop guessing what it will be like. Get ready to do these three things immediately. Its your only way out of future disappointment. 1. RECOGNISE your sinfulness. Dont argue with God. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God Rom 3:23 2. REPENT of your sins. It is written: except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish(Luk 13:5) Turn away from all your sins after you have confessed them. 3. RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST by faith into your heart. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name(Jon 1:12). Tell HIM to come into your heart and believe HE lives. And you shall never be confronted with the RED CARD if you abide.
