Its a happy ending for a dog that was pitched from a car and left to fend for itself on the side of a busy highway in Henderson County. Bitsy, a three pound Chihuahua, is safe and warm on Monday night thanks to two men who stopped to help her, a rescue agency that took her in and a couple who brought her home. I just couldnt believe it. I could not believe it. I was completely disgusted, Corydon Word says. Word and his brother said they were driving along Highway 60 on Friday when the car in front of them suddenly stopped and threw something out of the car. It was just so quick. It was so quick that I thought it was soda coming out of a car, Word says. The pair decided to pull over and check it out. Thats when they realized it wasnt a piece of trash. It was a dog. I was shocked. I was shocked that someone actually took a living life and throw it out of their car, just like it was nothing, Word says. The brothers say they knew they had to do something to help the tiny Chihuahua. So they took it to the New Hope Animal Rescue Center.
