Its a motion test for a multiplane camera move (or in this case, a pan), with distorted perspective, that has several elements on different distance levels move at different speed to depict depth of space of the scene. Those are only key poses for the characters movement. The idea for this design came from my own kitchen in the house Im living in with a few (lot) fantasy twists to it to make it more interesting. The character is just a random thing I came up with inspired by Big Hero 6
