Its always nice to receive a little reminder here and there, that we are not just here taking up space, living day to day without notice. Some days I feel like Im in a constant race from the time I wake up until I go to bed or to work depending on what night it may be in the week. Half of the time, Im so tired and delirious I dont know if Im coming or going between 3 kids, work and all the ball games/ tournaments my kids participate in on weekends. There are days i feel like I meet myself going and coming in the door. Its always nice to be reminded that others look up to you or take notice in something you do/say, even without realizing you did anything. Today, I was handed a letter that was written by Bethany Stoner for her drug court program. She was asked to write a paper on someone that she looked up to by Judge Stanley. She chose to write about me. She made me tear up while reading all the reasons she looked up to me . But, I want her to know I also look up to her for being such a strong willed and determined person to overcome what most cant survive. She has come such a long way struggling with addiction. She has fought her way through recovery to become a better person, mom and friend. Addiction is hard to overcome and a constant battle for some, but she set her mind on her recovery and will be graduating soon. I am proud to call her my friend . Im proud of her and the person she has became over the past year. Sometimes, it takes someone else to remind us that we are a blessing to others, whether we realize it or not.
