Its amazing to me how powerful opinions are in our lives. People will go in debt just so that their neighbors can be impressed by the mortgage liability they just purchased or the brand new car theyll be paying off for the next decade or so. Youve probably heard the saying that goes, if you hang around 4 broke people, youre about to be the 5th one. What does that have to do with others opinions? Well check this out. Rich people invest first and buy luxuries last- the opposite of what broke people do. So if youre constantly hanging around people who have no financial backbone or literacy on how to properly manage their money and invest it into assets instead of liabilities, you will end up being just like them. Why? Not because you want to, but because since you choose to fit in instead of stand out, you will more likely than not go where they go, eat what they eat, talk the way they talk and most importantly, listen to what they listen to. And since their best thinking has them where they are right now, it would be naive to think that you would be any different because youre best thinking has you where you are right now too- thinking that constantly and closely associating with them is a wise thing to do. Disclaimer: Im not saying we should unfriend all our broke friends...What Im saying is to be careful whom you most closely associate with because the influence of those whom we most closely associate is more powerful than we like to give credit. You dont get fit by hanging with lazy people, you find like-minded people with a goal of being physically fit and you hang with them because your results will mirror theirs. You dont ace a test by getting a study group of people who never like to study for their exams, you find people who ace tests and you form relationship and before you know it, youre acing tests too....not because you were dumb before and smart now, but because your mindset changed and therefor your actions changed and therefor your results changed. #YourNetworkMatters ##LawOfAttraction #LawOfAverages #BetterMindset
