Its been a little over a month ago, that my RA doctor told me I - TopicsExpress

Its been a little over a month ago, that my RA doctor told me I was pre-diabetic. I was shocked for a few days, even though so many FB friends tried to tell me it was not a big deal. I totally could not disagree more. Ask any amputee that lost their limb due to Diabetes, if they treated it lightly and most of them did not get the warning of being per diabetic. Knowing that, I set off to get as much Sugar out of my diet, and while I was about it, I was going to get rid of my 13 tablets I took for Depression, anxiety, hormones, RA and sleep. One month later: I am 12 POUNDS lighter, down to maybe a hot flush once or twice a week. Went back on my anti depressants and 1 sleep tablet. So I got 10 tablets off my regime. Joints still hurt, but no worse than when I was on the meds. It was and still is not easy living 80% or more sugarless, because the Sugar seems to be highest in what we think are the healthy foods.eg. Yogurt. I cant comment on how I feel, as these last 3 weeks have been extremely stressful..so once things are quieter, maybe I can see how my mind and body is adapting to this new way of life. I am set up to have some bloods taken soon that will also look for some underlying disorders, thanks to a good friend Annelie Meiring Roux who put me onto these tests. But I am happy to know that I was able to get a warning.
