Its been a month since the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act passed. Finally, FEMA has told insurance companies to stop charging draconian rates on families and businesses’ flood insurance policies. This comes after I urged the agency in a letter to quicken their implementation of the new law. This is an important step in the right direction, but we must remain vigilant to ensure the law is implemented quickly and correctly, so responsible homeowners and businesses get the relief they need and deserve. I will continue to hold FEMA accountable throughout the implementation process:
