Its been a tough weekend. I tried to post about this earlier but was immediately met with a remark about if this is so hard then dont do it. That is why I do it. Few want to. Helping other living beings is hard work. Helping cats is insane. Rescues will not help, communities dont care like they might about dogs, and people may say they want to help but very few will actually do so. I am on my own here. I have lost friends because of this and thats fine. I love saving these little lives or at least helping them to be somewhat better. It isnt always perfect and I am far from perfect but I love doing this. So no, I will not give up and find something easier. Nope. Nope. Nope. The transport yesterday did not work out. Sometimes a human can check out to be a wonderful person and still completely fail you for no reason. So Thelma, Louise, Stuart and Sammy do not have a home. But they, like all of the cats here are close to my heart. I love each one of these animals and I help them because I want to see them succeed. I am really thorough with my application process. It helps me see the adopters I dont want very clearly. I will be driving the 4 black kittens to Detroit myself. I will also be taking 2 grey kittens to a lady out there as well and trying to find Ghost Mouse who ran away a while ago. Samantha is very old and is very ill. She is likely in kidney failure. She is going to the hospital tomorrow and likely staying until we know whats going on. Since I have to drive to Detroit, she and the two black kittens from NYC will be staying at my vet for intensive care. Poppet is very swollen and is having complications from the surgery. She has been snuggling with me a lot and her sister, Juju has significant scarring on her cornea but is healing well and playing nonstop. Please consider adopting. Save several lives with one adoption.
