Its been one crazy weekend full of running calls and starting EMT class today. I am happy to say that after all the commotion this weekend with Zeropack, a hazmat incident, structure fires, vehicle accidents, gas leaks, EMS calls and god knows what else, everyone made it home. Yes, some firefighters went to the hospital, but everyone still went home in the end and thats the most important thing. A weekend like this is what makes me happy to be a volunteer and help out wherever I am needed. Good job to all the Winchester city, Frederick county, and other jurisdictions that came out to help with all the calls this weekend. Yes, a lot of us had plans for the weekend, but when the page went out for everyone to report to work, or for all volunteers to report to their stations for staffing, everyone did with no questions asked. I am happy to be able to volunteer with such dedicated volunteers and career staff.
