Its controversy time again Most of you wont read this cos it will require more than 10 seconds of your attention but if you do and agree then feel free to share it Ive noticed lately that we live in a society where the slightest thing causes an overreaction and not conforming results in a form of bullying. Not just from large groups but from everyone. Have you ever felt pressured into giving or made to feel guilty for not giving to a charity People might not want to give to charity or wear a badge, ribbon or wrist band and that is that persons decision. Its not law that anyone has to. People might not want to buy the increasingly expensive t-shirts, calendars and CD,s that are out there. It doesnt make them bad people. Charities are using the hard sell more and more these days. Playing on peoples sympathies and insecurities. Making out that if you dont give you are condemning someone to something. People on social media are lambasting friends for not giving or nor wearing a charities product. How much of the money you give do you think actually goes to the charities intended destination. After the product they want you to buy is designed, made, shipped, advertised and distributed. After staff wages and bills have been paid and the CEO has been paid their 6 figure salary. I bet its not much is it. Recent stories also exposed charities using the money to invest in the stock market (children in need) so does any of it get to where it should It used to be that you gave a voluntary donation of what you felt comfortable with but now its like extortion. You will pay this much. Youll pay every week or month. Thats not charity. Never feel that you have to give, never feel pressured. You are not doing wrong.
