Its disgusting when Hamas is called a terrorist organization. Lets consider that Gaza is populated with refugees, expelled from Israel for not being Jews -- families who once owned homes and farms now live in squalid concrete camps, stateless, jobless and without hope for justice. Israel funded Hamas schools and hospitals, giving the organization a reputation that Hamas cared about the well-being of the people. Why did Israel fund and support an Islamic offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood? Because it made Yasser Arafats wildly popular and secular PLO look like it was doing nothing for the people. Divide and conquer. Before Hamas, Gaza was a dangerous ghetto of restless and impoverished people. Hamas, utilizing religious-based principles, transformed chaos into a relatively safe place. But what happened? Israels plan to divide the Palestinian leadership worked. They demonized the very organization they once showered with funding and support, enforcing a brutal siege on Gaza, denying work permits, forbidding exports, bulldozing more and more perimeter, forbidding fishermen a livelihood by patrolling Gazas shores, shooting farmers tending their fields, and eventually conducting a massacre on their victims of ethnic cleansing that continues to this day. Christians who characterize Gaza as a land of evil Islamic terrorists do not realize that they are being massaged to get the exact same treatment when Israel is done using them. When the USA crumbles under the obscene war spending and inflation makes a loaf of bread unaffordable, Christians will organize militias to protect and feed their people. In the chaos that will come -- the vulture capitalists have no mercy -- Christians will be slaughtered and demonized in just the same way as Gaza. You may scoff all you want, but the signs are clear. The USA is just as occupied as Palestine, you just refuse to see it.
