Its funny how one sentence can trigger so many painful memories from your past. From the earliest memories i can recall being attracted to boys. I can also remember almost every time I was told I would burn in hell for being who I am by loved ones. I can remember almost every time that I was shoved into a locker or pushed or made fun of for being a faggot, and I remember most of the people who did it. I can remember all the nights I stayed up crying thinking about ending my life and asking God to make me not be gay anymore because I didnt want to hurt anyone. And then I remember the moment of clarity when I realized that it doesnt matter what people think of me. I am who I am! Love me or hate me, I really couldnt care any more. Because when it came down to it, the only persons acceptance I needed was my own and my kids. And my kids, Jada Garza and Jordis, love me for who I am, I love me for who I am and my boyfriend Jerritt Patterson loves me for who I am! I am finally happy in life, and I try not to look back on the pain of the past, but sometimes certain things bring it all back. Regardless, thank you to those who have shown me true friendship and love regardless of who I love! It really means a lot!
