Its funny how we never seem to notice the wind at our backs. Thoughts while riding a bicycle. I rode my real bike today for the first time this spring, instead of a stationary bike. As I made the trek out to the 5 Mile Point , for a total 10 mile round trip, I thought I did well for the first half, making it in under half an hour. I was thinking how well I had fared through the winter. I turned around and headed back home, only to realize that there was a tremendous headwind and that I had had my back to the wind on the first half of the trip. Metaphorically speaking, how many times do we take credit for doing so good and having things go our way, when exterior forces may have played a large role? I could elaborate, but then this is a metaphor. Ill leave the elaboration for you.
