Its getting close to the anniversary of my friend, ARON KINCAIDS death. ARON and I began working together in 1964. We later became friends, and neighbors. ARON lived down the street from the old PAUL BERN-JEAN HARLOW house, and I lived in Falcon Lair. One evening we had gone out to dinner. I asked ARON in for an after dinner drink when we got to the Lair, and I noticed I had a phone message. The message was that I was wanted for a reading/interview/audition for the TV Series, Ugly Betty. ARON got all excited about it; while I was rather blase about the whole thing. I no longer get wired over these things. Now, since I dont drive anymore, ARON insisted on taking me to the studio the next day. He kept telling me that he KNEW I would get this part. Youre PERFECT for this, Christopher. PERFECT. And so, the next day we drove to Raleigh Studios. Oddly enough, this used to be, Producers Studios. The very same lot where ARON and I toiled away for so many years on all those AIP Beach Movies. Later, ARON told our mutual friend, Kathe Orrison, I could hear Christophers reading, and I KNEW he got the role. Awfully kind of him; as ARON wasnt always prone to complimenting other actors. Anyway, I DID get the part; and the result is here in this shot from a scene I did with the wonderful ASHLEY JENSEN. I played the Collector of gowns worn by famous women. It was a terrific role, and they say I knocked it out of the ballpark. The other photo here was taken up at ARONS house. This was an evening when the writer, TOM LISANTI was visiting. Thats TOM on the far right, ARON on the far left. FUN evening, with LOTS of Hollywood dirt being thrown around.
