Its hard to talk with people who have known you for a long time. - TopicsExpress

Its hard to talk with people who have known you for a long time. If it is your children, they think you are in the role of parent and argue everything. If you speak of simple things or spiritual things it doesn’t matter. If you are just a human wanting conversation folks don’t see past whatever role you’ve played in their lives. They sure don’t want, need, or desire your wisdom. When Yahusha taught in his hometown synagogue at Nazareth, those watching him said, Mar 6:2 And Sabbath having come, He began to teach in the congregation. And many who heard Him were astonished, saying, “Where did He get all this? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him that such miracles are done through His hands? The Word says they were both astonished and offended. They saw Yahusha heal people, but they couldnt get past the fact that they knew his mother, brothers, sisters, and him in his previous role. After all, Yahusha was only a carpenter. He didnt have the proper academic or religious credentials. Besides, he was not in his proper role. Be careful about despising the ordinary. Do you remember how Yahuah spoke to Moses for the first time? He used a burning bush. In Yahuahs hands, something ordinary can become extraordinary. In Pharaohs court, the common staff Moses carried miraculously became a snake. When the prophet Samuel traveled to anoint a new king for Israel, he thought Jesses oldest son would be Yahuahs choice. 1Sa 16:7 But יהוה said to Shemu’ĕl, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him, for not as man sees, for man looks at the eyes, but יהוה looks at the heart.” Yahusha didnt come into this world with great fanfare, as most would expect of the Messiah. The place where he lived, Nazareth, was small and unimportant. The profession he inherited from Joseph, carpentry, didnt impress. Isa 53:3 despised and rejected by men, a man of pains and knowing sickness. And as one from whom the face is hidden, being despised, and we did not consider Him. The Tanak/Old Testament is full of prophecies about the Messiah even how the one foretold by the prophets would have no honor among his own people. At our own peril, we ignore people, disrespect them, and hurt those that are right in front of us. Are you someone who thinks that you would have been right there following Yahusha if you had seen the miracles he performed and heard the messages he preached? Its easy to imagine what you would have done if you had lived in Yahushas time. The truth is many shun those closes to them and seek wisdom from others afar off because they find it easier to respect those not so close. Matt 13:57 And they stumbled at Him. But יהושע said to them, “A prophet is not unappreciated except in his own country and in his own house.” Mark 6:4 And יהושע said to them, “A prophet is not unappreciated except in his own country, and among his own relatives, and in his own house.” Luke 4:24 And He said, “Truly, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own country. John 4:44 For יהושע Himself witnessed that a prophet is without appreciation in his own country. Yahusha pressed in and continued no matter the circumstances and eventually he moved to other areas. Never give up. No matter who rejects you, no matter who mocks you and thinks you think you are above your station, never give up. Keep pressing in to the prize. Keep focused on Yahuah. Let the knowledge that Yahusha walked it out first sustain you. Do as I do, let Yahuah wipe your tears for the ones who will do this to you will be the ones you love the most and share the most history with and no one will EVER convince me Yahusha didn’t hurt from what happened. ~Oil Blessings~
