Its high time companies and their board of directors take a hard look at this and reevaluate how funds are dispersed within their companies. CEOs are put in positions and before they prove themselves get paid vastly too much money. A decent salary should be instated and once a company has made a considerable profit then and only then should that person receive a share of profit for a job well done. Canadians and Americans alike sit back making meager money in retail, allowing the very people that run the company they work for to flounder and in this case completely fail thousands of loyal employees and the very company that entrusted them! We at the bottom busted our asses of to en still a companies beliefs and policies. We left other jobs behind because we believed this was an amazing opportunity to launch a great company into a new country, only to be completely blindsided. Only to walk away with the experience.... while again another failed CEO sits comfortably with money in the bank, more than most of us will ever see in our lifetime. Major companies have to stop the huge gaps in wages between guest/customer facing employees and those above. And stop paying out these CEOs for a job done wrong! Take care of your customers take care of your staff and the business will take care of itself. That saying can be taken in different ways, but the end result is a successful business. Stop paying these people huge amounts of money for a job they clearly could not handle! Instead invest it in the staff that work hard to run these stores day in and day out. Use that money to properly staff your stores. Use that money to ensure processes work to benefit the business. And when a profit is made reward the CEO for a job well done. Im amongst the thousands that found out the company i helped build is leaving as quickly as it came. I worry every day about my team finding other employment, and was devastated with them when the news dropped. I now find myself angry that one man walked away with more than an entire company.
