Its my unfortunate duty to update the OtG listening family on yet - TopicsExpress

Its my unfortunate duty to update the OtG listening family on yet another obstacle we faced in getting the Sunday, June 22 episode of ONTHEGRiND BOXiNG uploaded and available for download. As you are aware recent events at OtG include; the search for a missing correspondent, the aftermath of the Jerry West statue incident (which will not be making it to the podwaves), and a network security attack Through all these challenges, weve remained vigilant for the OtG listening family - working constantly to deliver the episode in a timely, if delayed manner. After processing of the uploaded audio file was finally complete late Sunday evening, BtR delayed in publishing the episode. Apparently recent upgrades to their system gave them the ability to flag and remove content electronically. It turns out there is a list and words or phrases that are recognized by the system as offensive in regards to ethnicity and religion. I asked about the FCC list, and was told they remain unregulated by the FCC, but as a global platform they refuse to tolerate attacks of a racial or religious nature. They do not consider their policy one of censorship, as it applies strictly to these types of attacks. As a web-based platform with international content providers and subscribers, blogtalkradio intends to respect the laws and cultures of all blogtalkradio users. There is concern that failure to flag and remove violating content can result in blogtalkradio being denied to users of entire countries, as a result of a single violating podcast. For the first time in OtG history, weve submitted an episode that didnt meet the standard. The technology used to detect violations of the standards may be new, but the standards themselves are not. At least theyre not at OtG. As crazy as things get at OtG from time to time, there are lows even we do not sink to. As producer and host of ONTHEGRiND BOXiNG from its inception 6 years ago, Ive been privileged to work with some of the finest people in boxing on a regular basis. OtG Family resides in every corner of the globe, and though they all have different backgrounds they share the common bond of respect. The OtG Team has an immeasurable amount of respect for our listening family, the sport of boxing and for one another. We believe people of all religious and ethnic backgrounds deserve the same level or respect, and believe in their right to believe as they choose. OtG portions this respect irrespective of skin color. OtG is taking steps to ensure there are no future breaches of our own standard, which we feel exceeds any in boxing The first step was editing Sundays show and removing all content deemed offensive. The podcast now available for download, while still controversial, should offend far fewer ears. Please forgive any audio issues with the edit, Im not a professional sound editor. Please understand from our founding, weve remained a small independent operation. The most important step weve taken is in implementing a policy of zero tolerance for this type of behavior in the future. Any racially-charged attack will result in immediate removal from the ONTHEGRiND BOXING podcast. One last thing. We have a tremendous amount of respect for the ability and accomplishments of Vasiliy Lomachenko. The comments of a single correspondent, who failed to complete his probationary period at ONTHEGRiND BOXiNG hardly reflect the feelings of the international team and listening family. Check the archives! Thanks for listening. Were back on Sunday.
