Its nearly a year ago when my late father sent me an SMS message through my kid brother on Saturday November 10, 2012 at 12:42 pm telling me not to visit him for a scheduled lunch on Sunday because my mother was away at a funeral. My late dad loved my moms cooking and for some reason that Sunday one he really treasured. It was the first time my dad ever communicated to me via SMS as I always phoned him or he would phone me or I would visit him and whenever I left I would hug him and let him know how much he meant to me. Before he got sick, he loved visiting me too. Dont know what happened to my phone but I only saw his SMS message when I was on my way to see him on that Sunday and got a phone call that he had just passed away. The caller did not want to tell me what happened but I sensed something was wrong and forced it out of them. My heart was broken because I loved my dad and he was my number one fan as a journalist. He was always praising my writing and never judged me...he made be strive to use my brain. My late dad was a genius and good at history too. Its because of him that I kept striving to try and put my all into everything I do. And its because of him that I will aim even higher and make a name globally so that he can smile down from heaven when he sees me satisfied and happy. This I will do with the help of Jesus Christ and the Mizere name will go down in history. I will not let any negativity get in my way, I will do it and fulfill my God-given destiny. May his soul continue resting in eternal peace.
