Its officially December. This reality was brought to my attention first thing this morning when I was awakened by a little boy saying Mom....we cant find Finneus Oselot Jr. anywhere! Finneus Oselot Jr. is our Elf, and the reason they couldnt find the stupid Elf is because he was still tucked away in my closet. Its Dec. 1st, and it is clear that I already stink at this game. So I quickly had to distract them with food, and then zip the Elf out and pretend like he had been there for hours. Over the years I have learned that if you are going to play this Elf game you have to master many helpful strategies such as the tackle with back hand toss maneuver. This can be implemented the second you hear those tiny little feet running down the hall to find the Elf. First you BOLT towards the child, then you tackle the child, then as the child lays on the floor all disoriented and stuff you simply toss the Elf into a different spot with a swift flick of the wrist behind your back. If they flat out see that the Elf didnt move, you can also make something up like Oh honey.....I dont think he actually moves until your room is clean. Or you can use my all time favorite......OK...... Who touched him and caused him to loose his flying powers? Almost always someone confesses. Obviously, today isnt my first time to stink at the ELf game.
