Its only in Spain where at the whim of someone who has nothing better to do, they decided to implement a no-left-turn rule on a fairly-busy slope overnight. I was stopped the other day by a cop and he asked, Didnt you see that you cant turn left? Oh? They must have just changed it! Oh, no, its been like this forever. He must have been the biggest one-day-old baby Ive ever come across. Ive been using this road for a dozen years or so! Anyway thats just half of my story. As to be expected, no one has noticed this change of rule. Today I happened to be driving on the road this slope turns into and, sure enough, this middle-aged lady was turning left. Like a good Samaritan, I horned and signalled to her that she is not allowed to turn left. Boy, you should have seen her reaction! She started screaming and cursing as though I had just slammed into her car or something. And as if that wasnt enough, she stopped her car in the middle of the road, her face like that of a devil possessed! I too stopped and tried to calmly tell her of the new rule. She was listening to her own voice. She was livid! They just dont make ladies like they used to. Moral of the story? Itd seem that it no longer pays to be kind.
