Its our intention to empower the people of Migori through trade, not handouts. Each one of us has a product to sell; it could be a bunch of bananas, a gorogoro of beans, or just bricks. We are therefore starting to develop physical structures in markets, and providing lighting and security to enable grassroots trade to grow. However small, each one of has a right to earn a decent, respectable living. We do not want handouts because these dehumanise us all i.e. both the giver and receiver, and do not enhance our dignity as citizens of a civilised nation.
