Its rare I post about the realities of parenting an adopted child - TopicsExpress

Its rare I post about the realities of parenting an adopted child with Reactive Attachment Disorder. But its National Adoption Week, where smiling pictures of happy children adorn the buses and few people talk about the difference between parenting a birth child, and parenting a child who has been abused or neglected. This short film pretty much sums up what many families go through. Im only 8 years in, and Ive already given up on expecting help from Social Workers or the various other agencies that promised help and support at the beginning of the process, and resorted to paying for private therapy at a cost of 2k every 6 months. This campaign aims to raise awareness and increase support available for adoptive families. Petition is here: https://change.org/p/edward-timpson-mp-parliamentary-under-secretary-of-state-for-children-and-families-support-for-adoptees-adopters Thanks for watching. :-)
