Staring actor Tom Hanks as Woody, actor and comedian Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, actor and stand-up comedian Don Rickles as Mr. Potato Head, actor, and comedian Jim Varney as Slinky Dog, actor Wallace Shawn as Rex, actor John Ratzenberger as Hamm, actress Annie Potts as Bo Peep, actor John Morris as Andy Davis, actor Erik von Detten as Sid Phillips, actress Laurie Metcalf as Andys Mom, actor R. Lee Ermey as Sergeant, actress Sarah Freeman as Hannah Phillips, and screenwriter, animator, storyboard artist, voice actor Joe Ranft as Lenny! The film was written and directed by John Lasseter himself, and the songs were written and performed by Randy Newman in the film which won the special achievement award for the development and inspired application of techniques that have made possible the first feature-length computer-animated film, the ASCAP film and television music award for best top box office films, eight annie awards for best individual achievement: music, best individual achievement: writing, best individual achievement: directing, best individual achievement: producing, best individual achievement: production design, best individual achievement: animation, best individual achievement: technical achievement, and for best animated feature, the Chicago film critics association award for best original score, the Kansas city film critics circle award for best animated film, the Los Angeles film critics association award for best animation, the motion picture sound editors, USA for best sound editing - animated feature, the national film preservation board, USA, the online film and television association for best motion picture, two PGA awards, the universe readers choice award for best fantasy film, and it even won two young artist awards for best Family feature - musical or comedy and for best performance by a young actress - voiceover role!
