Its sad that Ugandan Djs are not recognized in this Music Industry.. Last night at the CVMA we had every character that has any little thing to do with the development of the music Industry step on that stage and giv out an award apart from the djs. The djs were NOT represented and for me, thats just sad and the Funniest thing is I do not blame the organizers for that, I blame the DJS. Think of it, Music would never be received the way it is if it wasnt for the Dj. Music is like a drug and the Dj is a dealer. The drug can never get to its destiny without the dealer. I personally Hate playing Videos and i would never play videos in a club or sumn, I think Video mixing is some lame kind of djing especially if its done in the clubs. You cant get peoples attention using sound so you give them visual but hey, thats just my opinion. We all agree tho that the art of Video mixing has contributed alot to the art of video graphy in Uganda and it takes up upto 70% of the reason these Video awards were held. Infact, Club put up a lineup of djs just to promote these awards round Uganda, If you heard of a lil sumn called Club Djs, Yea, thats what am talking about. But like I said, I do not blame the organizers for not having a dj grace that stage to present an award. I BLAME THE DJS IN THE INDUSTRY! Like I always sey, Me, am all about the dj, I am always looking out for the interests of the dj but if djs wanna grace such events, They need to start thinking outside the box. I always tell people Djing is more than going in a club and playing music, Djing is a business. If you are a Dj, think of your self as a CEO and manager to your brand, Have a vision for the brand and dont stop at that, Pursuit that vision, Have a plan of action. Trust me, if all djs in UG thought like this, we wudnt have the respect we deserve and the industry would recognize us and respect our position in the music industry. Think about it and if you hv no vision for your brand, stop wasting your time, do sumn else inwhich you have a vision.
