Its so early in the morning even my coffee s still asleep Birds are clinging to the nest not a one has made a peep I would like to be in my bed, but these old legs have got a cramp So Ive hobbled to the porch where the air is cool and damp Im wrestling with this tightness, which now controls my limbs Just when I think hes gone, he comes back and bites again My mind tells me not to move, so Im playing mouse of course But as Im reaching for my cup, in charges old Charley Horse I try to quickly rise, get on my feet and dance until it quits But my hand slips off the arm chair, I go down , and I mean quick Now Im rolling on the porch, trying to find a hand hold that can help Laying in a puddle ,of warm coffee, I believe thats what I felt I finally get my bearings, as the cramp now begins to subside Old Charlie Horse has taken this old dude for quite a ride As any one will do, I raise up, to see if anyone was seeing And there stands Linda in her robe ,crossed arms, her smile just a beaming
