Its still going to take some adjustments and getting used to - TopicsExpress

Its still going to take some adjustments and getting used to having a 2 yr old around, but overall, now that we are nearing bedtime, I think I can happily say this is going to work out quite well whenever he is here. Stella is finally starting to get used to him though I dont think she still quite has it figured out what this little bouncing bundle of energy is yet... shes curious but after getting pegged in the head a couple of times with toys, shes keeping her distance for most part. Bobby got pretty nasty today, not at all liking this new little stranger invading our house... but he is calming down and once I sent everyone upstairs for 10 minutes he stepped up like a good boy, sat with me for 5 minutes, kissed me goodnight and went right to bed without any trouble. (that had been my biggest worry) At first he didnt like having Smiley here at all, but then during lunch the 2 of them had quite the conversation going. I wish I would have grabbed my camera and gotten a video of it, but maybe next time. I was too busy watching and giggling. Aunty Chey needs to remember her place around here and that I have successfully raised 5 children thus far... 3 of them from birth. I am quite capable of caring for a 2 yr old without her standing over me issuing orders like a drill sgt. But she, too, will adjust after we have a nice long talk come Friday (after Smiley goes home). And grandpa is experiencing a toddler for the first time really... discovering how exhausting it can be, how much they need to be watched every second, and doing quite the good job of helping to meet the challenge. I think hes going to sleep really well tonight, lol. And then theres me... grandma... on cloud 9 having Smiley here with us. Something tells me that by the time this little one gets a bit bigger and starts talking better my name is going to be the enforcer instead of grandma, but thats ok. ;-) At least he listens pretty well and I dont have to turn him around every time. I noticed that when Aunty Chey and Grandpa tell him no he stands there and smiles with that evil grin that screams and whatcha gonna do about it? but when Grandma says no, he stops cold and stares me down with that do I or dont I? look and then decides not to, lol. What an amazing little man he is already. So full of personality and energy. I think I am the happiest and proudest grandma in the whole world!
