Its taken me a day to process Lawrence Santoros passing to the point where I could say something myself. I wouldnt say he and I were close, but we were in contact at least once a month as I turned in a new Tour of the Abattoir column for Tales to Terrify, and once we figured out what deadlines and delivery systems worked for both of us, he was always easy-going and amicable. He was also willing to give space to my own writing, both on the show itself, and when I needed to skip a column to finish a project or meet a deadline. His droll on-air response to my column about the music of Black Sabbath was hilarious. Im glad Tony C Smith mutually introduced us, and Im sorry I didnt get to know him better. Ill miss working with him.
