Its the birthday of the master of suspense films, Alfred - TopicsExpress

Its the birthday of the master of suspense films, Alfred Hitchcock, born this day in London, England in 1899. Hitchcock had gotten into a bit of trouble with his father at age five. His father decided to teach the young lad a lesson, so he sent the boy down to the police station to be locked up behind bars. It terrified Hitchcock and from that day onward he feared policeman; in fact, so much so, that he rarely drove so that he could not be pulled over. Hitchcock began working in the art department on films when he was 20 and worked up to direct his first film The Lodger (1926). Hitchcock would employ elements of wrong accusations, conflicted emotions, and endings with a twist in making movies that would be memorable often in disturbing our psyches. And still, Hitchcock became one of the great masters of suspense with classics as The Rear Window (1954), Psycho (1960), and The Birds (1963). Hitchcock had a wry, droll sense of humor as often was evidenced on his television show Hitchcock Presents. When filming, Hitchcock usually managed to get himself succinctly into a frame.
