Its the last post on a Friday afternoon...lets just make rubble out of the fourth wall, since the other IHOP is just down the road from me and is literally causing alarm in my very neighborhood. I live in Midtown, the part of KCMO that we joke is as far left as this state goes, both politically and geographically. I live in the neighborhood *where a Starbucks failed in a corner location* while the small, independent coffee shop they were trying to drive out of business expanded, opening two more locations and a roasterie. Were funky and ecclectic and welcoming and open and gay couples can walk down the street holding hands without fear they will be bashed in this neighborhood. We are also the neighborhood that gentrification was coined for, and it is full of elegant old stone and brick houses, many with three floors plus a basement. We stopped making jokes about Mike Bickel being KCs Jim Jones when he started scouting real estate in Midtown. We dont want them for neighbors.
