Its throwback Thursday and I want to tell the story of how my Mother met my Father. My kids love the story of how they met and I love telling it! My Mother was a gorgeous red head with a personality larger than life-she lit up any room she entered ( I mean that literally as well as figuratively, she loved her Winston cigs). My Mom and her friend went to a barbecue party that was being put on by a young fireman that lived down the street. After a few drinks a cute 33 year old man that had never been married (and was with his girlfriend of five years) walked by my Mom and she pinched his butt! He took one look at her and fell in love but didnt have the nerve to actually talk to her. His name was Richard and he knew he needed to get my Moms number. He asked his friend and it took two weeks to build up enough courage to call and ask her out on a date. She said yes (she had no idea who he was when he called but she was a single mom and hungry lol). Richard picked Maxie up in a beat up truck that was covered in dog hair. My Dad has never been smooth! My Mom had no clue who he was still but thought dang he is cute (poor but cute lol) At the end of their date my Dad said do you remember how we met? And she said no so he told her she pinched him on the butt at a party and she said wow I dont remember that but let me do it again! From that moment on they were together every day and married six months later. ( two months after dating my Dad picked my Mom up in a corvette and she found out he owned a fire truck manufacturing company so it was a happy surprise to find she was in love with a guy with a good job for once) :) theirs has always been and will always be one of my favorite love stories.
